China has 56 ethnic groups.
2,980 deputies, representing all the 56 ethnic groups, sit on China's highest organ of state power, the National People's Congress (NPC), which just concluded a key national assembly on Tuesday.
Xinhua photographers took portraits of 56 deputies, each of them representing one ethnic group.
